    wow I can't believe you've been on Atkins as long as I've been alive....and I thought I've lived :-\

thaz awesome that you look so young I too thought u were in your 20's, the years have been good to your skin I hope to look half as good when I get there myself...

all this crap that says lo carb this and lo carb that makes me cringe when I see candy bars and ice cream with that on it like its really gonna help you out with anything...I wish they'd stop posting that on anything under like 30g's of carbs for christ sakes, it makes me wanna cheat cuz u read "lo carb" and think "hey it wont hurt"....BOOOOO!!!!

Hi, Angie! It's nice to meet you! Thank YOU for the compliment, girl! I appreciate it! You are too sweet!

I hear you! When the world pretends to know what low-carb is, and then they try to ram a 30-carb sandwich down your throat, it just shows that companies are banking on human ignorance when it comes to the low-carb lifestyle.

      BTW, I'm 5'5"-1/4" and I claim the 1/4"! LOL!

Re: What 22 Years on Atkins has taught me

Cleo - thanks for the welcome back. I've been hanging around, but not posting much - just seems like everyone else has so much better to say.

I checked the scale yesterday - it's been quite some time since I was brave (stupid) enough to step on it. Well, despite the injury which kept me from exercising as I would have liked (running), I did continue to walk and do resistance band exercises while I was healing (pinched nerve in back first; achilles/calf problems second; then other side of back third), so I was fortunate and didn't gain anything back.

However, I'm making a decision to watch what goes past the lips from now on (all over again - it's almost my two-year atkins-versary). I sort of slacked off a bit while on Basic Training, and then didn't get absolutely dedicated again (feeling a bit sorry for myself because of the injury, I guess).

I didn't go all out and cheat horridly, but I ate more than I wished I would, I think. While at Basic, of course, there were things I just couldn't avoid - we were given a choice of this or that, so I chose the lesser of two evils - especially when we were in the field with pre-packaged meals.
