  • Off to Fishy world!

I leave tomorrow morning for 4 days of salmon fishing in the San Juan Islands. Four buddies and I had a planning meeting last night and decided to divide up meals for the group. They know about my WOE and inquired about their planning. I said not to worry and I would eat around items that are not allowed for me. I also will bring backups.

Well, I got two phone calls today inquiring about particular food items from two different guys. Pretty thoughtfull for fellas about to go an a fish clubbing expedition. There are often posts about unsupportive or ignorant people regarding this WOE. Thought I would post on to the contrary.

    Fish ON!

That's awesome! It's so great when people are respectful and thoughtful of our WOL. Back ups are definately a good idea. I saw some Chocolate Chip Teddy Grahms in a store that they had tagged "Lo-Carb!" uh...yeah...if you have the metabolism of a hummingbird and are in fact a hummingbird. Lol!

Have fun fishing! Let us know how it goes!

If it goes as well as the tuna trip a couple weeks ago, we'll have Italian Sausage for my dinner. If not Blackend Salmon!

Depending on your persuasion perhaps! As long as they can clunk a fish in the head, they stay!

                          Re: Off to Fishy world!

You are very lucky to have friends who are supportive of your WOL.
I have been on Atkins twice before. Lost 40 lbs. Then got to thinking I could "do it my way" and keep that weight off - Well....... I gained that 40 back and a few more to boot - *sigh*
Now that I am back on again, my family and my friends just roll their eyes at me.
I don't have much support right now. My family see's me as a quiter. Guess I am going to have to prove them wrong eh?
I used to spend a lot of time here at the board. I never posted much, just read about what everyone else was doing and learned A LOT! Maybe this time I will be able to be more active in the discussions...
                          anyhoo - Enjoy your trip
