  • I Don't Feel "Satisfied" After I Eat. Why?

I've been low-carbing for four days. This is my second time around. I do not feel satisfied after I eat. I feel full after I eat, but it seems like "something" is missing. Is this just carb withdrawl? I don't recall feeling this way the first time.

I usually eat two eggs for breakfast, a salad w/ protein (chicken or beef) for lunch or a large bunless hamburger with lettuce, onion, and pickles. For dinner I eat a meat and a couple servings of veggies. When I get hungry, I eat fried cheese or deviled eggs.

As iapetus says, the feeling will pass. I think we so associate food with the pleasure regions of our brains, and regardless the way of eating we choose to follow, we'd be dreaming of what we ought not have!

Knowing you have had success in this WOE previously is excellent, however, as you know you can do it again. I know you can, too! And you will!

What's missing is: white flour, wheat flour, can sugar, fruit sugar, various glutens..............

Your body is having quite a shock. As Cleo said, give it time. And eat more fat if it is bothering you.

Mmmmm.. deviled eggs.... I've now replaced my Big Mac craving with one for deviled eggs. Much more Atkins-friendly... unfortunately I have to actually MAKE them.. and McDonald's is just right around the corner....

              Just kidding. (kinda)

Maybe eat more of fattening foods and you will feel fuller. Filling up on deviled eggs adn sausages for breakfast, chased by llots of water will fill you up adn maek you feel less ready to eat so soon after.

The feeling will pass as you get used to the new foods. Good luck and have a great time a year from now looking back at the after pictures and seeing how you looked way back when

I know how you're feeling. I'm going through the same exact thing. This is my second day on induction and it's been really bizarre both physically and mentally, but it'll be worth it in the end. I know we can get through it!!! Especially with all of the inspiration from the people on this board. Thanks guys!! I couldn't do it without your stories!

Do you drink water as you eat? If you are, drinking water (or anything for that matter) pushes the food out of your stomach, thus making you unsatisfied. Give it about 30 to 60 minutes after you've completed your meal. If you're still unsatisfied, drink some more water. (Don't drown yourself though)
