Does anyone else often wish they could go back and re-take their wedding pictures?

In a month, my husband and I will have been married a year. When we got married, I was about 185 lbs. Looking at our photos now is almost painful... I wish we could go back and re-take our photos in these new bodies we've worked so hard for! Granted, there are some photos I'll never stop loving.

Gah! I really do wish we could do them over.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing...I was thinking that maybe you had ALREADY re-taken the pictures.

Don't be such a critic of yourself (speaking from the point of view of the world's worst).
You were/are a beautiful bride, and you are remembering the day and the sentiments. Re-taking the photos is not the answer.
You now have something more to build on.
Take anniversary photos if you wish - celebrate your new physique

I deffinately have to step in the line of all previous posters, you both look wonderfull and happy !!!
I think we all look different at ourselves and tend to think other people see it the same way, most of the time where you look at the belly, we look at the happiness !!!!!

You really were a lovely bride !!!

A thought though...how about getting new pictures taken for your next anniversary...you know, buy a pretty dress, rent or buy a tux for hubby. Or HEY, renew your wedding vows and then you CAN have updated photos!!

Ok, like everyone else, I have to agree, you look gorgeous and it is a great dress.

However, I totally empathise!

I was married eighteen months ago and our photos are amazing. We were eloped to Vanuatu, we found the most talented photographer*, the scenery was breathtaking, even though (or maybe because) the huge tropical storm stopped long enough for them to decorate the old missionary open-air chapel and for us to have the ceremony but there I am rolling out of my dress.

I'd love to be able to have them taken again looking healthier but that is the size I was when I was married.

I guess they prove that I didn't live up to the stereotype, I didn't get fat and complacent once I was married.

But instead, it shows that my husband and I got healthier and fitter. It was just something else that we are doing together.

Besides, the healthier you are, the better the sex gets


*He was a professional photographer who had recently emigrated, unlike the only other "photographer" on the island who was just really taking happy snaps but still charging like a wounded bull.

What a great idea!!! I hadn't thought of something like that! I mentioned it to DH, and he thinks that should be our reward for hitting our goal weight, when it happens. I think that's what we're going to do - I'd never thought of a reward for hitting goal before, but I can't think of a better one than that!
