  • I survived Cedar Point!

    Yes, its true .. we went there this past weekend for the first time since my pre-Atkins days ...

    For those of you who aren't familiar with this rollercoaster mecca, let me tell you that they SPECIALIZE in the best french fries on the planet and I was hard-pressed to walk on by ............... DH gave in more than twice in 3 days .. He made some comment about "I ain't gonna travel 1100 miles and miss out on those fries..."

    I'm telling you, it was a test of my resolve to this woe ... I did sample 4 french fries in 3 days .. not a defeat by any stretch of the imagination considering these are HOMEMADE FRIES .. we're talking MEGA HUGE, REAL POTATOES ...

    Other than that, I am pleased to report I resisted those frozen chocolate bananas (37 grams of carbs! ) and ate well and on plan the remainder of the time!!

    Oh, and by the way, riding rollercoasters has gotten to be alot more painful without those extra 40 pounds of cushionining (especially on the butt!)

    Welcome back! I'm so glad you had fun and were able to resist the temptation! And even when you sampled, you were conscientious! Woohoo! {{{Betty}}}

          Oh yeah, we used to go to Cedar Point every summer when we lived in Nebraska .. LOVED IT THEN AND STILL DO!! Only now, living in Florida, we don't get up there as much as we'd like!!

          Hon, you just stay the course and soon your buns will be screamin' for mercy on Gemini, Mean Streak and Blue Streak!!

          MAGNUM STILL ROCKS!!

            OMG the french fries with the cheese and vinegar????AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! We used to go every year to Cedar Point when we lived up there. It was my MIL's favorite place to take everybody. Oh, man. Maybe next summer.... hmmmm......
            The Gemini and Blue Streak are still standing huh?? Wow! I'd take Cedar Point over any Disney Park anyday!!
            Sure doesn't look very crowded there TT??

              No, it wasn't crowded at ALL!! Labor Day, NO LINES ... HEAVEN!!

              Yes, I agree, CP is in a class by itself and those are strong words for someone who has annual passes to Disneyworld and Busch Gardens & Seaworld!!

              Its so sad to think that glorious park has to close for the winter!!! LIFE IS TOO SHORT! They need to move it down here so it could be open year round!

              OMG, FRENCH FRIES THIS CLOSE TO HOME? WHAT AM I SAYING???

                Re: I survived Cedar Point!

                I love Cedar Point. We even went there on our honeymoon. We now take our kids every summer. I thought it was too funny that I have never tried the fries. I guess I just better not ever try it and find out what I was missing. Did you go on the Dragster? That just looks too scary for me to try. Temptations are hard at places like that. Good job on only having 4 fries!

                    Cedar Point rocks, but I'm a fan of King's Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's only 3 hours away from me, and my family always went at least once a summer when I was growing up. I haven't been in a few years tho... need to go back!
