    Re: Wedding Day Diet

    Ditto that.
but that days like Xmas aren't days to be spent wishing for a bite of dessert that is right in front on me.
For the holidays I make wonderful appetizer plates of meats, cheeses, seafood, veggies, dips, etc., have a great lc meal planned (a favorite of mine is prime rib with a great salad, buttered petite green beans, a couple extra sides and a lc yule log cake --no flour, no sugar but wonderful - honest!) and change the emphasis of the holidays or other special occasions to doing things other than cooking and eating. There are LOTS of non-food activities, but for me it takes breaking the food addiction to get there. Make the doing of things more fun than socializing with just eating.

I agree with what you said in this quote, but I personally need to looking at this differently. It's not that I can't have the high carb foods, it's that I want to treat myself better than that and find alternatives to them. That often isn't a lc cookie instead of a high carb one, but maybe flax pancakes with berries and whipped cream instead of cookies and a quick jog (gotta love those endorphines!!) instead of holiday candies.

I'm not perfect by any means, but I've found that often when I eat high carb foods it is either a form of 'comfort' that leaves me feeling worse (just needing more empty carbs and getting that craving back yet again) or that it's a form of self-punishment. I'm working on getting a handle on that. More good days than bad, thankfully.

As for the problems with food beyond lc or ww, have you heard of Food Addicts Annonymous? I've just heard about it recently, but it sounds like a great program.

Wishing you the best in your journeys and also for your marriage! Congrats
