Thats great news. I'm procrastinating because there is a work social event tonight as I mentioned, and to pass up an open bar because I started Atkins 1 day earlier.... well it isn't going to happen

But if I don't start tomorrow promise that you'll give me a hard time about it.

i think you might be surprised that after starting this woe. i loved cake and pancakes and toast and candy bars and ...you get the picture. just the smell of a snickers bar sends me into a spiral now. the love of doughnuts is over. you will find out that some of these thing you love to eat can and will be introduced back in but you're also going to find some very good things to eat. then you'll wonder how you ever got along without those!
I've missed carbs so much, I'm sure you all have too.
Not me.. not the carbs that made me feel like crap and look fat as h*ll. I love the good carbs that make me feel and look SUPAH. Attitude and outlook are EVERYTHING when it comes to permanent lifetime change.

I agree........... BUT not if it makes you go hog wild. There are some things (triggers) which some people do need to totally avoid.

Re: Being bad never tasted so good

I used to love pizza. I used to LIVE for pizza.

Anyone who knows me at ADBB knows that pizza was always my downfall.

Guess what... I DON'T MISS PIZZA. I don't. You could place it in front of me, staple it to Kevin Spacey, or promise me a thousand bucks to eat it, and I'll just laugh and say "no thanks".

If you get it out of your system, you won't miss it.

YEAH, you might miss the comfort associated with druging your emotions with food. YEAH, you might miss some of the traditions centered around your favorite food.
YEAH, you might even miss the texture.

When it's out of your system and when you decide that the reward of health for life is worth more than the risk of falling back into those old eating patterns, I think you'll finally be in a place of peace forever, so far as your health is concerned.

You have to want this for yourself more than your drugs, your crutches and your fleeting feelings of supposed well-being.

I had a freakin DELICIOUS okra gumbo w/ green fordhook lima beans cooked in a rich tomato sauce w/ smoked ham and sausage. And 1/2 cup delicious yogurt.

                  Nothin like it!

Dinner will be Just Like Stuffed Baked Potatoes casserole w/ diced chicken and bacon bits in it.

Re: Being bad never tasted so good

I had yogurt for breakfast with splenda and flax, and a flax cracker.

4 hours later I'm still NOT hungry! *l* I love this WOE.

I will have a taco salad for lunch with sour cream, jalapano slices, sharp cheddar cheese, and black olives that just burst with flavor on my tongue.

Re: Being bad never tasted so good

Allie-- there's nothing like it! I make my own seasoning and it's lower carb, but not in flavor. Add some guacamole or avocado salsa to the top and you end up thinking your Atkins tran derailed and you're living too well to be eating low-carb. I'm going to start cooking that hamburger now! I'll set a place for you at the table.

Your okra gumbo sounds good, too. Bring me some? *l*

I swear if it wasn't for you guys and your yummy meals, I'd only eat eggs and salad! I always get the best ideas from you guys!

MotherOfGizmo, that sounds SOOO yummy, did you save me some? LOL

Rhuobhe, I know where you are. I used to NEVER eat cake...well, I crashed last time and I ate a half a cake BY MYSELF!! Talk about a belly ache! Cleo really helped me to understand what I was doing to myself, and why.

She told me to answer this, What is the food doing for you that you can't get rid of it?

I knew I wasn't happy but doing it anyway, and she asked me Why aren't you worth being happy?

Once I could answer those questions, I was able to move on. I hope that helps!! If you need ANY support, PM me anytime. I'm here for ya babe!!
