I made it through too! It was actually totally delicious. My mother made dinner, and made sure to accomodate me. So dinner was turkey, with the [strained] juice from cooking as my gravy, mashed cauliflower and green beans. For dessert, I had made a low carb pumpkin pie, so I had some of that. All around, a delicious meal, and it was nice to spend a Thanksgiving without feeling sick from a too-full tummy afterwards!

It's only 2 pm here right now so the turkey is sizzling and hissing in the oven, and smelling reallllly good! I gave it a rubdown with olive oil, sage, thyme, rosemary and pepper..oh my gosh..and stuffed it with an onion and some celery leaves.

I'll be serving brussel sprouts and plain canned pumpkin(with butter!! mmmmm maybe a splash of Atkins Maple Syrup) and I'll be reducing the pan juices and adding a bit of butter to thicken them up for me. Bf will be having a few boiled, mashed potatoes and a package of gravy (he loves the powdered gravy! bleeeeechhhh!!) so both of us will be happy!

It's pretty easy not to cheat when it's just him and me...lol.

Re: Thanks Giving In Canada WHO did GREAT??

Well.....there's a smidge of tarnish on mine. I had a glass of red wine during dinner. But I exercised a lot on the weekend so hopefully all that alcohol got burned up. Ketostix say I'm still in ketosis. Other than that, I had turkey, rutabagas and cauliflower. I ate allowed amounts, but I felt really full. I don't know how dh and the kids put that away plus rolls, mashed potatoes, peas and stuffing, but they did. I was satisfied with what I ate. I also made a cream cheese pumpkin treat for dessert which was good. But that's it for treats until Christmas. I don't want to risk any triggers. I don't have any cravings today, though.

i've never had an issue with holidays, I'm quite happy with turkey and veggies and a low carb desert.

I had cauliflower, peppersquash, turkey, s/f homemade cranberry and a low carb pumpkin cheesecake for desert. I don't even miss my potatoes or traditional stuffing.

Me..I had no cheats. Turkey with gravy (drippings with sourcream added in...can't get simplier than that), Company Broccoli, salad with dressing. Didn't even have room for my spaghetti squash. No dessert.

Brussels Sprouts and Swiss Chard Steamed
                      Turkey, roasted
Parsnip/Sweet Potato chopped and sprinkled with olive oil - roasted in oven in foil
                      Small piece carrot
                      Small piece rutabaga
                      Bit of salt meat
Little peas pudding (yellow split peas, cooked with salt meat - not for Induction, but I'm beyond that)

I don't make gravy or dessert. I didn't drag out pickles or beets, either, which I probably would have in former years.

The others had the stuffing, potatoes, cabbage. I didn't have room for anything else
