  • How do I enter Yogurt?

How do I enter Yogurt into fitday? I bought some plain yogurt and I know from reading here that the count is not really what is on the container. Thanks!

The ability of the active yogurt bacteria to consume the sugars in yogurt is oft debated, but I have always voted to be safe, aka list what is on the package. There are some articles that say yogurt (even full carb ones) is only 8g per cup, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Blue Bunny carb freedom yogurt at least gives me the assurance of no more than 5g per cup.

I agree with Kent - enter the info as written on the pack.

I agree too. Use the custom option. I pretty much enter every thing I buy other than meat and produce.

I only enter 5 carbs' worth per cup due to the yogurt exception, but I acknowledge it is controversial to do so.

When I was counting carbs, I only counted 4 carbs per cup... but still entered the 12 into Fitday. My body didn't (doesn't) care either way.

Wouldn't that mess up the percentage's in fitday...if you were counting 4 in your head but 12 at fitday? This stuff says 16g carb per 3/4 cup. I admit that I have yet to try it because, one, I never liked plain yogurt and two, I hate this experimenting stuff...I would perfer to do it perfectly and lose every week all the way to goal...LOL...I know that won't happen...but I want it to happen for as long as it can.

We don't get Blue Bunny here in Canada. I am wondering if Blue Bunny is so much lower because they did the proper testing on the yogurt and got the real count of yogurt instead of taking the nutritional info from the ingredients list and using that for the count as the higher count yogurt companies may have done.
