  • Help... :(

    I' for about 3 1/2 weeks into Atkins (ext. Ind.) and today I had an emotionaly very bad day.

    Many news today made me nervous, uneasy and generally upset... I'm feeling really depressed...

    For the first time since I started, I'm letting my anxiety get the best of me...

    I mean, I love doing Atkins usually and I don't really feel like I'm on a diet, but today, the fact that I *know* I can't eat out of it is making my feelings even worse...

    To make even worse I'm about to get that TOM and I haven't lose anything for a few days...

    I don't know what to do...

    Ahhh... close to my heart.. stress eating/emotional carbing...

    I react to most news by eating... good/bad/indifferent...

    I have to remind myself that whatever the news is, chances are its a done deal and I cant control it, change it, alter it... all I can do it deal with it. TO deal with it, I have to know that (sometimes the ONLY thing that) I can control is what I put in my mouth, how I choose to care for me. To deal with this stuff, I need to be on peak performance, not in a carb induced haze, feeling sleepy, or dazed, or just sick to my stomach and needing to "sit down until it passes".

    A lot of us are in this boat because we react to life with eating.... and it is a journey to get our weight under control, but also to get rid of the slavemaster in our minds that says... something is changing/hurting/bored/happy/whatever... you MUST eat. I think that if someone were to actually talk to me, the way I let my carb monster push me around, I wouldnt be around that person anymore. YOu must... you cant... you'll never... do this NOW... LOL.

    Daily Goals:
    No wasted carbs.
    Water intake .5 -1 gallon.
    Exercise 60 minutes 5x week
    Get in the right veggies.

      Sorry to hear life is being hard on you at the moment Totalele
      One thing that helped me in the first few weeks on this WOE was to make sure I had nothing in the fridge that was not induction-friendly AND that I had more than enough 'legal' food for snacks and meals on hand.
      Then if I did get to the point when I just HAD to comfort-eat I only had induction-legal foods available.
      Better to stay low-carb even if you are eating more than you ought to
      Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
