  • To members -- and potential -- of ADRB

As I'm just returning to ADBB after a long absence, I'm also just returning to ADRB. It really saddens me to see that that board is being so underutilized. I really thought I was leaving it in good hands... well, I take that back. I know I was leaving it in good hands, so I'm not going to blame those folks! However, I really feel that the board could be a very valuable resource for the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender communities, and I hate to see it die.

For those of you who are members, let's get things heated up and the word out. For those of you who are not board members, but are members of one of the above communities -- or are friends or family of someone -- please come join us. Post a bit about yourself, and utilize the forums just as you would here at the main board. Let's make ADRB well and keep it alive and growing!

Hey Chris, How are you. Thanks for the funny emails.

I understand your feelings, but many of us tried to keep Rainbow going and it was like talking to eachother. We just couldn't generate any interest. Folks would come and then disappear like what happens here all the time. I think Dieting and Gay/Lesbian is to narrow a topic for one board. I wonder if a private forum wouldn't be better

Hey, Lynne, how nice to communicate with you right here on ADBB once again! I'm so glad we were able to keep in touch, at least to some extent, during my absence.

May I remind you, dear lady, that a private forum was all that we wanted, originally. I thought then, and still do, that such a forum would be more than sufficient for the needs of the GBLT community. However, there was a very, very vocal minoritiy of members who felt that the forum was inappropriate, and raised quite a brouhaha over it. I felt that it was all a tempest in a teapot and would soon blow over, but others disagreed, so we were moved, lock, stock, etc., to a daughter board.

I'd be quite happy to see a private forum on ADBB instead of an entire board. To be honest, I think it would be preferable. Perhaps the "powers that be" will reconsider?

They join in the same way that they do, here. Most forums are visible, read only, to guests, but a few are reserved for registered members, only.

There is no application approval process. It was decided that anyone who asked for membership would be admitted, and if anyone caused problems they'd be removed. Really no different than at ADBB, actually.

              Lynne, I didn't receive a PM.

Welcome back Chris. I tried to keep ADRB afloat while you were gone.. but sadly I failed miserably. I even sent the members e-mails and such.

Hopefully now that you're back it'll get back up and running and become what we all know it could be.

Hey! My husband and I are swingers! We have lots of "friends" who are into Atkins too! Don't let the gays have all the fun. Maybe you could create a board for us swingers as well. We're real laid back and easy to get along with....but sometimes we get tied up and are unable to post.
