      Re: Share your Non-Scale Victories

I guess my non-scale victory would be becoming the State President of the writing group. NEVER in a million years would I have stood in front of people and given speeches. I was always the one in the back hiding in the shadows. When I think of myself talking to hundreds of people at a conference and sharing my personal thoughts -- it blows my mind.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!! ALL your victories give me gooseybumps!!!

For me, its being able to run .. for the FIRST time in my life!! I was never very gifted athletically .. but now? I'm out there DOING IT!! I can run for 2.5 hours without batting an eye! In the sauna heat of Florida summers even!

Every run makes me feel like the bionic woman!!

Betty you're running is amazing and I think you've inspired me to try it myself! Course it may take some time since I really am not athletic and am not sure I could even run to the end of my street at the moment!

My NSV for today is that I have not had a fizzy drink in three days!

I should have just posted here instead of doing a thread about it...

but I've gone from a 16W to a regular 16 and now to a 14 in jeans... without losing a single pound..

yes.. I'm disapointed that the pounds aren't coming off.. yet... but this is just amazing..

            I AM shrinking!!

I was there too in the beginning! 6 blocks and I was gasping! The key isn't how far you start out .. its being able to finish!! Go a block .. GREAT... next day, add another block!! Soon you'll be a lean running machine! HONEST! I still can't believe I can run 13 miles at a time! I'm always asking DH to check the mileage on his odometer!

I want it BACK! my longest long run w/o walking was 18.. (10 years ago)...

when I started in the very very beginning... I did a little 'program' from the Runner's World training thing that said run 30 seconds.. walk 30 seconds.. for 15 minutes.. then you move up to 20, 30 minutes... and change to run 60 seconds, walk 30, then run 60, walk 15.. that kinda thing..

it was never about just killing yourself in the beginning.. just get off your couch and move.. that's what I need to do again.. MOVE

                  Re: Share your Non-Scale Victories

hmmm....I am only on day 5 of induction so I am all about the small victories at the momment. Yesterday I made cupcakes for my daughter and didn't eat any or even lick or taste what so ever!
My pants feel better and there is a pair that I will be donating because they look so terrible on me. And this is my proudest- I jogged for 25 min straight on the treadmill. I have been working my way up to 20 for a long time and achieved it so yesterday I pushed for 25 plus 10 on the eliptical.
I am going to Berlin tomorrow so I expect some poor judgement- i will do my best, but i am thinking of making my induction 3 weeks. we will see!
congrats to everyone else's victories- day by day we can do it!!
