Hey there! In the beginning, keeping motivated was easy...dropping weight like crazy is really na eye opener. Even if you're not dropping quickly, the anticipation of dropping kept me going. After a while I don't consider needing motivation. This is now my life and my lifestyle. I'm not denying myself anything, I just prefer to eat this way because I feel so much better than I did when I chowed down on french fries or carby food.
Keep at it, and in no time you'll find it hard to remember how you ate like you did before! Keep up the good work!
I keep motivated because I know this WOE WORKS. I fit into smaller clothes than I have worn in years and old friends are so impressed when they see how much better I am looking.
My skin has improved, my self-confidence has improved and I feel so much better. Yes I still have a fair bit to lose but you know what? It WILL happen - it may take time but it WILL happen.
I did it before I can do it again. That is my motivation. Before My son I lost 120 lbs thanks to the atkins diet. Once I put a goal in my head I have to acomplish it. We all have a project to do. And I am my own project. I want to be healthy, feel good and most of all LOOK good again.
Thanks,
Charlene from Ohio

Sorry for the late reply...my puter crashed and burned and got replaced. Thanks for all the replies. It is very interesting reading everyone's view. Thanks!
You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
My bf's hobby is photography...so we've got a whackload of photo albums with loads of pictures like the ones in my signature.
It's with a sense of shock and awe when I look through those now.
After my divorce over 10 years ago, I decided that if I was a fat woman, I was going to be a fat woman enjoying her life, so I stopped hiding when the camera came out and I felt that I wanted to convey the excitement of the moment when a picture was being taken, and not get weird about a camera being around. That's not to say that I loved each and every picture that was taken, but they serve as a HUGE motivational tool for me now.
Also, I just keep the big picture in mind. I've said over and over to the newbies that every bite of food, every time you choose the stairs over the elevator, every choice you make is one piece of the bigger puzzle..and I really believe this..it's not just words on a screen.
Even now that my loss is firmly entrenched on a plateau, I still feel this way and I feel that to stop doing what I'm doing will not get me anything...so I just keep going.
