  • Treadmills???

What are some good brands of treadmills? Me and my husband want to get a used one but want to get a good brand. It is getting really cold here and we don't want to walk outside during the winter.... Thanks!!

I recommend Treadmilldoctor.com for anyone looking to compare quality treadmills.

Mine is a Smooth 9.1 and it was worth every penny.

I love my new Trimline T360 HR. Treadmilldoctors.com is a great site to evaluate the best treadmills, and I would especially urge you to read their buyer's guide, which should help decide how expensive of a treadmill you need. The prices as listed may vary, so you'll have to take that into account -- for example my model was $900 lower than the one listed (on sale). My general recommendation is to get an American made one -- Taiwan models are notorious for poor reliability, and one with a generous all parts and labor warranty. With this many moving parts, you want to protect yourself.

The manual is difficult to find at the site. Here's the link. Scroll down to find the actual manual, but the page gives excellent information.

I bought a Pro-form from Sears on sale for 600.00 dollars.I use it 4 to 5 times per week and it works great.I really, really recomend getting a service agreenent on any treadmill you buy. Mine cost 225.00 for 4 yrs. They service my machine a couple of times per year, they will repair or replace the machine if they can not fix it.

make use whatever treadmil you get it fits your style of walking running. I know my Gym uses Proform and when i was above 180 pounds the back of my hand on the arm swing smacked the end of the long handrails. I have a nortic trac at home and even at 300+ pounds never smacked them.
