    Re: The Surgical option

I wish I could afford some improvements through surgery after I lose the weight. Maybe a tummy tuck and a breast lift.

Maybe I should write a letter to one of the reality shows and get it done for free? Hey, it's worth a try.

      Very well said Dave.

          Re: The Surgical option

Extreme makeovers and swan is the one with surgery.

How does anyone know what they look like when they get to goal? I mean there are alot of great pictures of people that lost alot of weight.

I mean if I lost all my weight, and I didnt lose my stomach roll, why bother doing this for me? I mean I have a small amount of weight to lose but still if I dont gain full self esteem why bother. I made goal before on other plans didnt have the full self esteem that is why I gained most of it back.

Before starting any program, my self esteem is a 1/2 glass. I want a full glass so doing a program needs to have great results or I would just do any.

            Re: The Surgical option

I looked into this a few months before I started Atkins and some of the horror storeis I saw put me off well and truly. I do appreciate that it's "different strokes for different folks", but the people who have had it have to restrict themselves to much less food than we enjoy (as per Dave's post) so why not do it the long way and be doine with it?
I'm pretty anti-surgery anyway, un;less it is something life-threatening, which is also, I guess, why the people have it. It's tough to judge without doing a few miles in the other person's shoes.

              Odille,
My response might be a bit delayed (so many threads here!) but you don't need the surgery now! You are doing great!

I hope to get to goal and then go visit these doctors that were pushing the surgical option!

I hear of so many stories where people get the surgery and still struggle with loosing the weight! Very Saddening!
