    This is Tom. I have been on the Atkins Way of life for the past 15 years. I have fallen off a few times, but I always get back on. When I am on it, I feel better, feel healthier, blood work looks better etc. I started doing more of the Carnivore version, which I still consider Atkins. But I would eat one steak a day, usually about 4:00 PM, sometimes a greek salad with it, sometimes just the steak. This was when I really felt the best. I even noticed that I didnt get any seasonal allergies.

    Haven't been on this board for years, but a moderator's notification popped up and I still seem to be active.

    I used to do Atkins hard and by the book. I lost a lot of weight. See

    But now I am 76 I am being more cautious.

    With moderately low carbs and much lean protein I have in the past few months lost 9kg an today weigh 99 kg.

    I will try to get back to the 92 kg I weighed in 2007

    That's the weight I was when I joined the Army aged 27 in 1977. (Historic weights are from Army records.)

    I hope I can achieve that. Muscle loss (sarcopenia) may make that difficult.

    I can however cycle 30 miles a day on a road bike without distress. There is hope for me yet.

    I wait with interest to see if names from ten years ago pop up here.
