  • Is this meal Atkins friendly?

    Hello,

First post here so hello all! Just want to know if this meal I have just had is atkins friendly. It's consists of:

    Two Grilled Chicken Breasts
Two grilled pieces of smoked bacon

The chicken and bacon are cooked then chopped up into small pieces. I then add two tablespoons of real Mayo and mix that all together, serve with some lettuce and celery. Having a look at the labels most of the above are low in carbs so I am hoping it ok as it tastes great but just want a second opinion.

Yes that is very legal, and sounds very very nice.

I might even have it myself tonight. I was a little unsure what to have really.

This sounds very good to me. You might want to actually measure your veggies though so you will make sure and get in the required amount each day. Don't want ya missing those valuable veggies. Keep up the GREAT WORK!

the foods as Atkins legal and if it takes that much food to satisfy your hunger when you are eating it then it is legal. So did it take all that to satisfy your hunger at that meal?

I had that just the other day, but instead of the lettuce and celery I added just a little bit of chopped green and red pepper....it is very yummy!

                  Hello all,

Thanks for the replys. Yes the meal does fill me up and tastes good to boot. I might try and store a little in a tub and take it to work for a snack there.

Another question, when looking at the nutritional values on different foods I have noticed some have Carbohydrates 1.0g (As an example) then Carbohydrates of which are sugars 0.5g Is that anything to concern myself over i.e. Should I try to avoid those foods or does it not matter as long as I don't go over 20g of carbs?

                  Thanks again,
                  Chris.

sugar in the nutritional labels is just the amount of simple sugar in the food it can be 100 percent natural like in veggies.
the sugars we need to avoid are in the ingredients lists.
