  • Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

I only have about 21 lbs to lose. I was wondering if anyone else has moderate weight loss goals? I understand that the more one has to lose, the quicker the weight comes off, so it'd be nice to hear from those with not-quite-so-much to lose.

I'm having real difficulty not overeating.

    My stats: 20/F/5"2

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

i would say i have a moderate amount of weight to lose. i am not exactly sure as i didn't weigh myself prior. i have completed two weeks on induction and i am going to try for two more.
i am 5'9" so i would guess that about 30 maybe more lbs is the amount i should lose.
the first two weeks the weight came off really easily, my husband was noticing changes daily, i expect it to slow down and even itself out now.

      Hi,

I know what you saying! Things will be slightly differenr for people who have less to loose!
I want to loose another 20-30 lbs... I lost 8lbs on induction and i have been on extended induction for almost 2 more weeks so ill let you know how it goes!!!

I am def feeling a difference in my clothes and the mirror after only 4 weeks!

      Have you started induction yet?

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

I started off at around 161lbs on 1 October, aiming to get to around 145lbs, so I suppose that counts as a moderate amount. I'm currently at about 152lbs but the rate of loss has slowed right down now. The main thing for me has been to accept that I won't lose as quickly as those with a higher starting weight. However, one advantage of being near to goal is that we are encouraged to move up the rungs more quickly so that low-carb feels more like a lifestyle than a "diet". I've actually forgotten that I am on a programme as I've introduced a huge range of veg, a bit of fruit, the odd oatcake, glass of wine etc, and as long as I keep up the exercise and portion control I'll still be going in the right direction, if slowly. For us "little losers", I think it pays to keep away from the scale too as it won't show the huge drops that others have which can be demotivating.

          Hey NL,

9 pounds in 6 weeks is still great weight loss!!!

I personally am sticking to extended iduction untill im much closer to goal as i have a wedding in 5 weeks and i want to fit into my dress

Then ill start owl adding back some nuts, fruit and a bit of oats. I hope this will make the weight loss faster!

But as you said, its more a lifestyle now, not a diet! so who cares if the weight loss is slow at least we will get to goal eventually, not like on other diets where i never even saw a 2 pounds weight loss!!! Also i feel so much healthier id do this WOE even if i did'nt loose weight just to feel this good

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

Well, I don't have much left to lose - 17lbs. Though when I started, that number was 50lbs to lose.

Its definitely going a heck of a lot slower now, and I have to pay real attention to my calories consumed now in order to lose the weight. When I started I was eating about 1900 calories a day and still losing 2-3lbs a week. Now I try to keep it to 1400 - 1700 calories a day to lose 1lb a week.

I'm doing a modified OWL in that I'm sticking to 30 net carbs while I move up the carbohydrate ladder. Once I've completed all rungs, I'll try and find my CCLL.

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

I've got 18 more lbs to lose...I started at 155 and am weighing in this morning at 143...yeah!! I only started induction 9 days ago Don't worry about the overeating part, I too was an overeater, a grazer more likely. I always thought I was hungry and was always looking for something to eat, not anymore. I am never hungry anymore. In fact, I have to remind my self to eat every six hours though I am usually not hungry. Don't know how it works, it's magic! Welcome aboard!!

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

Well in the beginning at 180 I lost quickly...and now that I am closer to ultimate goal I don't find a drastic change in the speed of loss..As long as I'm still losing, and there is no room for cheating!!!

Re: Anyone with moderate weight loss goals?

Initially, (back in 2002) I wanted to lose 15 pounds. I lost 40, and have maintained it for 3 years by eating whole foods (unprocessed) and exercising religiously!

I too started in January hoping (but hardly believing) I'd lose 12 kilos. Instead I went on to lose 21 (46 lbs)!!! Also maintain with lots of exercise and whole foods. You'll be surprised how much easier it gets as you go along.

My initial goal was 50lbs, but I'm nearly halfway there now, so I've got a weight loss of 28, which I consider moderate!
                      Good luck!!
