You're allowed 3 servings of sweetener a day. A serving is a packet or a teaspoon. This also includes your soda and whatnot, so if you drink a serving of soda, that gets deducted from your 3 serving limit. Make sense?
If a can of no-splenda diet soda says 0 carbs, do I only count it as 1?? Or is this not allowed. It's aspartame. I get a reaction to splenda (it makes my eye twitch) so i can't use it.

You are not supposed to have aspartame at all, but any artificial sweetener is counted by servings. A can of soda is one and a half servings, so it counts as half of your daily total of three servings. You are supposed to be breaking your sweet habit and dependence on a taste for sweets.
Besides that, diet sodas are known stallers and possible weight gain. They are made entirely of chemicals that are bad for you. They cause serious bone loss.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
