All of us will face challenges when we are away from our homes, whether it is for business or pleasure purposes. How we handle these challenges will affect the outcome of either gaining weight, losing, or staying the same! Some will go with the concept that they will just plan to eat differently (off plan) just this one time and then go back to plan after. To me that would be setting myself up for failure. I would rather plan for those times, bringing with me legal snack foods, so the temptation is eliminated rather than give in to it. Eating out I find is easy to stick to plan, I just ask alot of questions at the restaurant, and if they can't answer the questions, I just don't eat the food, and order something else. I pick and chose, and alot of times even create something off the menu, in bits and pieces. As for exercising, I own a laptop, so that comes with me as well as my DVD's, and I can workout in the room! Failing that, alot of hotels have exercise rooms, or there is still the walk around the town scenario as well!
Before starting this WOE, I used to make alot of excuses as to why I should be able to eat junk food and be inactive on trips away from home. Thx to this board, I now PLAN how to stay on target and make no excuses. My reward for this is NO weight gain, and feeling good about myself. I just got back from a 3 day getaway long weekend and I am pleased to say that I stayed the same weight, and I'm proud of it! So it definately CAN be done!!!!
