    thanks for all the valuable info thus far... i was hoping to get one more question answered. ummm... i am really really really hungry right now but i am holding back my hunger to ask you if what i want to eat is alright or not...

    chicken nuggets... the carb count is within my 20g allowed per day but the ingrdeients says there is corn startch and wheat flour, i am assuming they used that for the bread crumbs on the covering. i have eaten only 11 carbs today and was wondering if i could eat these nuggets. 2 nuggets have like 5 carbs, but i dunno about if the wheat flour and corn starch are allowed.

      No. No corn starch and wheat flour are allowed on induction. Peel the breading off of the chicken mcnuggets and then it is fine.

        Nope. The chicken breading will really be bad in the long run because the purpose of induction is to get your body to crave the good stuff and not the bad stuff. Just pop a chicken breast in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes and you are all set.

          in the old version of Atkins the answer would be sure have them. BUT Dr Atkins learned from his patients when they ate low carb high glycemic carbs they had cravings and would fall off the wagon. SO to mak you the best loser you can be with the easiest path he changed his plan and said nope not one crumb not on the low glycemic acceptable foods lists in chapter 11.

          Follow the rules read your bood and be the biggest loser you can be!

            Tea has carbs??? What? Where? When?? WHAT???

            Okay, I'm calmer now. I generally have one cup of green tea in the morning (for those antioxidants and blood sugar benefits) and a cup of a decaf tea (either Celestial Seasoning's Decaf MountainHouse Chai or CS's SugarPlum Spice) with dinner. I already count each one as a carb because of the single packet of Splenda I stir into each cup. Do I have to count them as 2 (or more)?

            Any advice?

              Tea and coffee, without any additives, are carb free. They do, of course, contain caffeine, which is a no-no -- but decaf versions are certainly available. Freshly brewed tea contains a significant amount of anti-oxidants, so, unsweetened, is actually good for you.

                actually Chris they do have carbs just very small amounts under 1 carb but if you drink a lot of it then can add up just as the small not coulted on the lable diet colas have carbs in them too and if you drink several like I did before I started Atkins be adding carbs and not realize it.

                      No prob Chris, and no need to apologise to me. Actually, that tea and coffee had carbs came as a surprise to me too, when I found out...after doing Atkins for at least four months!
