    Re: Is it all psychological?

You look a LOT thinner. Your arms are much slimmer, and so are your thighs. Are you wearing different clothes, or still in your 'fat' stuff? Go out and buy a pair of TIGHT jeans, and you'll see a huge difference in them when you reach your goal. You're doing great - don't get fixated on the scales. I'm sure you feel 10 times healthier.

          Re: Is it all psychological?

Steph - you've lost a lot of weight very quickly so it is going to take time for your mental picture to catch up with how you look now. I've lost the weight that I have very slowly so I'm still not seeing major changes in me but I know there's less of me and I'm happy with that.

Don't beat yourself up over anything here, you look great. See how you feel when you get to 130 and decide if you can live with that weight or if going down would really be a good move. You might find at 130 that you want to stay there for a while and get your fat goggles OFF before moving down again. Or you might drop to 125. But our bodies have a point beyond which they are not comfortable with us losing weight - where we would start to be UNHEALTHY.

I'm not so obsessed with the scales as I was. I am happier in myself knowing that I'm gradually peeling off the pounds and inches because doing it slowly means I'm less likely to put it on again. Before I started Atkins I was about 167lbs which is far far too heavy on someone who's only four foot seven. My goal weight is roughly 112 but I could probably live with 120 for a bit and then see how I feel - I'd rather get used to the psychological feeling of being in the 120s again as that's a weight I've not been in over twenty years.

Depending on how long you've been heavy you may want to give yourself a break and stabilise before going down again - that's something that I'm doing because I then know where I'm not going back to and that's less than I was when I started Atkins, if you see what I mean.

          Keep up the good work.
