Re: Cool things about losing weight.

I'm with Cleo on this one. the main one for me is the look on peoples faces, who a few years ago said that atkins was bad for you and doesnt work. Thats priceless.

Secondly, the amazing ability now of being able to do much more without running out of energy.

I think I have made the same observation......

Not everything shrinks when you lose weight...... ?

        Hopefully that is tame enough.

Re: Cool things about losing weight.

No more tummy rolls spilling over my jeans when I sit down. This is rather embarrassing, but I used to hate how the waistband of my jeans would permanently crease downward at the front & top, because that only happens from the dreaded "Tummy Roll" when you sit down.

Also, when I was heavier, I would get unexplainably hot pretty often - and being heavy made me all the more self-conscious about it.

Trying on clothes has become a breeze. That used to be the worst ...

The British Army Service Dress and the Mess Mess Kit that were tailored for me in 1977 have been returned by the regimental tailor to their original sizes, and they are now too big again. It's a good job I wear braces (US English "suspenders") with both uniforms.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
                he said, 'Don't count calories.'

You guys made me think of an unusual one:

Try being an appointed board member for Parks and Recreation for your city at 325 pounds when you're so fat you look more like you park your keister for recreation!

                    *LOL*

Re: Cool things about losing weight.

I was appointed to a city board position. Parks and Recreations are a local bit of government where a small, voluntary advisory board looks at the wants and needs of the community's quality of life, and we beg city council to spend money for things like walking trails, city pools, commissioned artwork along said trails, entertainment events, etc. We also regulated use of parks and park facilities. We also maintained greenspaces, and took much pleasure in turning down developers for not alocating enough land donations or moolah to our department. Heh heh.

And the guy had a moocow and went to CC and fought for like a fricken year and he lost at city council after even making it through Planning and Zoning! I love beaurocracy!

It was an outstanding opportunity and I quite enjoyed it.

But that is what I said.

Save for the bits you didn't understand.

More detail but no more clarity, Cleo.

                            I am struggling with

"you look more like you park your keister for recreation"

                            What is "keister"?

You had my arse packed? OK. Now we're into sado-masochism on this end over here. By the time we've effectively bridged this language barrier, I've gone from giving my time to the best interests of the city to having my arse packed by a man of the cloth.
