  • A little help for my friends!

I have been on Induction for about a month and a half and have had great results with a few slip ups (chocolate) here and there, but overall I am happy with my effort thus far.
My friends in Canada- are not doing so well. There are 3 ex work mates of mine, one has been on Induction, she said by the book and hasn't dropped a pound, another has the idea that Atkins is all meat and another one is looking for an easy way out- in the past she did a shake diet, lost 60lbs only to gain it all back and then some- we know this story.
Anyway, I am wondering what I can say that could convice these ladies to give it a fair shot. I know reading the book is key- but one for sure will not, the other one has but not all the way.
I wont be back in Canada until the end of Feb and they are going to be shocked to see me- but I would like to somehow encourage them to give this a fair shot--what can I say or do, via email or computer, that would at least get the ball rolling- any advice is welcomed, thanks.

If they aren't going to read the book then there's almost no point in them trying. It holds all the vital information, and it's clear that the idea that they have of Atkins is just a few points they have picked up from other people.

As for your friend who says they've followed it by the book and not lost a pound, they must have gone wrong somewhere. There is no way they can do it and not lose any weight! The first few attempts I had at Atkins, I went totally wrong because I didnt read the book properly - I was eating cured meats, and all the wrong vegetables in the wrong amounts.

I suggest that you either point them in the way of this forum or tell them exactly how important reading the book is. They will be unsuccessful if they don't, and it could be severly unhealthy for them.

But well done on your success so far!

Hook them up with this website! They can find the facts, speak to some experts and Atkins veterans, and look at some of the before and afters, that should be enough.

yep give them a copy of our newsletter link and hook them up with us! You can't make anybody be a successful dieter cause the motivation has to come from within in order to have long term success.

I don't think that you need to say anything. As the weeks and months pass, they'll see all the conviencing they need in your emerging health and slim looks. If seeing you becoming increasingly healthy and happy motivates your friends, then is the time (in my opinion) to introduce them to this forum and to encourage them to follow the book to the letter.
