  • The Splenda Lawsuit

Yesterday I did some research into this website called Truth About Splenda and immediately came away thinking the site is full of . First off, while I don't doubt that Splenda is artificial and like alot of things can have its risks, on the other hand you'd be a darn fool to think for one minute that a website run by the SUGAR ASSOCIATION of all groups is waging this disingenuous war against McNeil Nutritionals out of care and concern for the health of their fellow human being. They just can't handle the cold hard fact that people are spending less on sugar and its byproducts.

I'll bet you almost anything that alot of the people who support that lame website are margarine users. A little more reasearch taught me that it's not much different chemically than plastic! Try sauteeing veggies in THAT!

I don't use splenda much, but wanted to get others' thoughts.

I don't use Splenda or any artificial sweetener much (if at all). I don't like the fact that it contains chlorine .. but, on the other hand, its a better alternative than sugar for those who need an occasional treat.

But, let's see a lawsuit against SUGAR .. which is the most lethal substance on earth, in my opinion! Not only does it make you fat, but it feeds cancer, increases wrinkles, causes tooth decay and pre-mature aging! Sugar kills!

I agree! If anything, we should go after sugar companies. Going after Splenda because it cuts into their market is just harsh!

I use artificial sweeteners maybe once a week (if that at all).

Frankly, Splenda is a chemically altered sugar molecule. So while MacNeil has studies to back up the safety of their product, I still have my doubts.

The taste of sweetness can be addictive (lots of people here can attest to that fact!) So I do question the rationale of substituting one addictive substance with a similar product. But that's just my hang-up and does not represent the views of ADBB.

            I think there should be
            an uproar over Splenda's price

I'll be glad when generic Splenda comes along
although,I'm weaning myself off artifical sweeteners

I think it's upto the individual. I use sweeteners without any ill effects. But it is best to limit them if only because they might stimulate your appetite. Just my 2 cents.

I think someone wrote about walmart carrying a generic, but I haven't seen it myself.
