Here at we are blessed to have many fantastic mods. I think we all need to take a second and give them a huge THANK YOU for all they do throughout the year to keep this place running as smooth as possible. No one really understands the behind the scenes work that these people do on a volunteer basis day in and day out around here. Most of the time it is a pretty thankless position. Welp......how about we rep a mod today!

Great post, Bren -- and a very good idea. I'll add my own deep gratitude to the whole staff.

Let me say to all the members, that if you haven't been there and done that, you just don't know. When I was a moderator I learned that I couldn't just visit the board when I wanted to, but had to spend several hours each day, not only moderating my own forums, but also reading every post in every other forum, as I agreed to do when I accepted the position. I'll be honest, a lot of the fun of ADBB left at that point.

Then, however, I accepted the Admin postion! At first, it was just Bren and myself. At that particular point in time we went through some pretty rough spots. Political posts in Chit Chat were starting to cause some really bad feelings among members, we made the gender forums private, and had a near riot on our hands from a certain few members who felt like it was their God given right to peek into the "other" forum, we had Mr. Benjamin along about that time (if don't know who "he" was it's a fascinating story), and numerous other situations. Bren and I were soon doing what was a second full time job for each of us -- but without pay.

I will say that a select few of the members would ocassionaly voice their thanks for our efforts, but mostly we just received complaints -- about everything! One member, who's now no longer with us, used to post pretty much solely in Chit Chat and, to a much less degree, in the men's forum, but added nothing to the Atkins forums, which is, after all, the primary purpose of the board. He was so upset with some of my ideas and decisions (especially the fact that he could no longer go in the Women's Forum) that he tried to petition Tom for my removal.

In short, people, taking the time to say "thanks" to the wonderful mods and admins on this board will be very much appreciated by those who volunteer their time and effort to make ADBB the best Atkins board on the whole world wide web!

I agree, although some of the names I don't regonize, I don't visit all the boards.

Cleo, heres to you kid, I know your in the heart of many on this board and I appreciate all your good work. I also miss Whoooshi Fairy any while you never admitted it, we knew. Your the only one who could put a poem together that actually rhymed

And Bikergoddess, you know that you were the best and while we are on different sides of the fence on all political and philosophical issues, your my heroine when it comes to weight loss and maintainence, besides being so beautiful.(I just look at this icon and think of you cause I know you want to aim it at me) Thank you girl friend.

2big. I can't let this go without saying thank you. You are the heart of this board and while I would love to remember a bit of what you do about this diet, it will never happen, so please never leave us as this board won't function without you. Happy New Year My friend.

Lastly and most importantly, Thank You Tom for all you do, hiding back there in the background, rarely coming up for the acolades that you certainly deserve. You are the best and and the heart of this board, and its soul.
