Hi there...this may be one of those questions that has such a simple answer, but hey..I'm on day three induction so that entitles me to be a bit spacey, right???
I bought some sugar free metamucil powder today and the label has me puzzled. It says 5 grams carbs, 3g dietary fiber, and 2g soluble fiber. What exactly would the net carbs be? Is that 3 g of fiber with 2 of them being soluble or are they two totally different things and I subtract 5 from the carbs?
Sorry if this seems a bit confusing... By the wayI am drinking at least 80 oz. water and I don't eat more that 2 ounces of cheese a day-

the fiber that is dietary is also called insoluble fiber so you have 2 types of fiber which total 5 grams.

The net carbs therefore would be 0. Watch out for the aspartame in that product. I am not saying don't take it (count the sweetener in it), but if you get stuck with no weight loss, I would change to taking a fiber tablet instead.

I use the Metamucil capsules. They're just psyllium (with a little food coloring) in a gelatin capsule.
