  • Holy Cow!

Is it normal to drop 5 lbs on the scale in the first 3 days? I weighed in when I started at 267 and weighed in today at 262, same clothes and all. I am guessing it's water weight? I expected some but WOW. I knew my shirt was filling a tad less tight today!

I would guess that it's not all that uncommon, but it's certainly great! I can relate to your losses. In my first 5 days I am down 9 lbs.

Congrats, and welcome to the club!

Sure feels nice, doesn't it. I lost 7 kgs the first week and 4 the second for a 24 1/2 lb total on Induction (but I had a lot to lose). That first quick weight loss feels SOO good and keep you motivated. Goiod luck!

            Re: Holy Cow!

Congrats on your weight loss already! You do lose a bit of water initially as the glycogen in your muscles is consumed for fuel as your body tries its best to continue burning easy fuel. Glycogen is combined with 2 parts water for each glucose. That does not minimize its consequence that you are or soon will be burning fat for fuel. You will be burning all the extra weight in fat hanging on you. Enjoy the loose clothes feeling because you'll be needing new clothes before too long.

                    No dude,

You are getting too thin! That's too unhealthy, eat a doughnut now!!

                    Just kidding!

Congrats on a great start. A lot of that is water, but my thinking is why would you wanna lug 5lbs of water around ?

                        Re: Holy Cow!

I am feeling better. I noticed some joint pain I have had the last few months wasn't there the last couple of days. Today, I hardly even got hungry at all. It was all I could do to polish off that nice big steak for dinner. My craving for my usual Diet Cherry Pepsi has gotten less today, but it's still there, so far I have not indulged in one.

Amazes me that drinking MORE water makes you lose it! Day 3 now I am having no problems getting my daily amount in!

addyosu - I guess we can compare results as we go! Looks like we started a day apart!
