    Lab Results (FINALLY!)

I just got off the phone with my doc's nurse and here are the results from my lab work I had drawn last month:

Hg a1C: Sep 05: 6.9 Dec 05: 6.4 (not as low as I had hoped, but it's getting there!)
    Total Cholesterol: Sep 05: 186 Dec 05: 137 WOWZA!!
HDL: Sep 05: 48 Dec 05: 41.5 (not sure why this went down when it should have gone up)
LDL: Sep 05: 100 Dec 05: 97 (again not as low as I wanted, but moving the right way)
    Triglicerides: Sep 05: 188 Dec 05: 48

The nurse said the doc is VERY impressed with my results and is not going to add any meds to my mix and doesn't need to see me for 3 months! WOOHOO!!! I'm hoping now that I've sworn off sugar alcohols that things will improve even more significantly.

    Yay!!

WTG, Terrie. Good work with the A1C and cholesterol. Hope I can do the same in March.

Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
        he said, 'Don't count calories.'

woo hoo for you congrats on your lowering of the unhealthy triglycerides and LDL and woo hoo on the blood sugar test. So in 3 months that little bugger will be even lower caue you will be eating your Atkins correctly.

remember espically for diabetics over eating your proteins is just as sugary as carbs in the human body.

Terrie, don't you know that Atkins diet is dangerous? All that fat is going to clog your arteries with so much cholesterol that it'll kill you!

Seriously, congratulations on the good numbers -- it's wonderful! And, thanks for helping to destroy another Atkins myth.

                  Congratulations!

My doctor was adamantly against me doing Atkin's, so seeing your positive results are very encouraging. I hope that in a few months I will have wonderful results from my blood test, like yours , to show her.

                    woohoo! Congratulations

Correct me if I'm wrong, but besides diet I believe exercise also helps increase HDL, so make sure you're working out!
