What do you take with you to eat? Mealwise.. I know of several snacks I can take. I'm thinking more like portable meals that fit in my backpack. I have a 2 hour break between classes on a couple days that I will need to eat a meal.

I bring my lunch in a small cooler bag (brought at the op shop for $1) with an ice brick. It is usually salad and some protein (cheese/meat/fish etc) at the moment because it is summer here. We have a fridge at work but it makes it too cold (I have sensitive teeth) and in the cooler bag is just right by lunchtime - nice and cool but not icy. For the colder weather (not that it ever gets really cold here) I'll bring leftovers from the night before. I donated my old microwave (this is a non-profit community setup) so I KNOW I'll be able to heat stuff up!

        Re: College students...

On Tues. and Thurs. I have no lunch break--4 classes in a row with 15 min. in between. Today I ate a piece of bacon in between each class to try and keep me full--I was STARVING when I got home! I have this thing about "smelly" foods (i.e. paranoia people can smell my food) so I kept the bacon in the car. lol But I would recommend pepperoni slices (won't kill you if un-refrigerated), mini dill pickles, cheese sticks, beef jerky, slice-able veggies like cucumbers...

I like my cheese sticks room temperature (gross, I know!) so I am going to get some of those. And Sam's Club giant bag-o-pepperoni.

          Re: College students...

I had the same situation last semester. My classes ran from 9:30 to 3:00-
          with a break from 12 to 2.
Occasionally I would take off with a friend and grab a QUICK salad some place. Do you have a cafeteriA? They may have some low carb options. Usually I would try and eat a real good breakfast, and just bring cheese, or cheese sticks, maybe some peperoni. If your further along in your diet- nuts are a great idea. They are very filling. I would buy little planters peanut packs that I think were 6 carbs a pack and I could never even finish them in a sitting...

staying busy really, really helped me with my diet, also trucking across campus lugging my books is almost a work-out. I can't wait until next semester starts next week for me. When I'm busy- dietng is never a burden.
I'm learning that food does not a life make.

Good luck with this WOL and School.

Isn't it though? ugh and this semester I have anatomy which is like a 50,0000 lb book. lol I go to a community college, so the campus is small, but it's still big enough to be a workout with all the books. And the hike from the parking lot.. omg! Which brings me to...

You have time to make it to your car and back in 15 minutes? I'm so jealous! You must get to park closer than I do.

              Re: College students...

I went to school at Univ. of AL for 4 years, so I remember parking woes....I lived 1.5 miles from campus but would have to leave 40 minutes before class to circle the parking lot and wait for people to leave....it was ridiculous! My current uni is unusual in that parking is plentiful...I can actually drive from building to building if I have to, and I park close to my main building every day.

Wow, that's awesome! My school just opened a new building this semester that I have 2 classes in. I'm wondering how parking will be close to it. I guess I'll find out today! lol
