  • Day 2 and have a question

    Ok i think i may hgave already messed up..i am on day 2 and i was very hungry so just went to the store and bought some squash and zuchini...Opps..is that a NO NO...? I have eaten about half of each...someone plz let me know if i messed up already...Grrrr











    These goals maybe pushing it but I am gonna give it my all.

    Re-Start Date: March 31, 2008

    Starting Weight: 265 lbs. Highest ever!

    Goal Weight: 175 lbs. (as of now)

    Goals:

    1)April 30th- 250 lbs.

    2)June 9th- (My 35th Birthday)225 lbs.

    3)July 29th- (Parents 36th Anniversary)199 lbs.:dancing1

    *To be under 200 lbs for the first time since I was a teen would be the best gift I could give them.

    Squash and zucchini are on the induction approved list so that's fine -- but how much is "1/2"? They are on the list of "1 cup of additional veggies" so if they were pretty small and the total of what you ate was only 1 cup, then nope, you're fine. And if it was more than that, chalk it up as a learning experience and watch your veggie intake tomorrow!

      Yes, I don't think a bit extra of squash or zucchini will earn you any black marks. SLice some up until they fill a 1/2 cup measure and then you'll have an idea of what a 'serve' looks like in future.

        And as long as it was 'summer squash' or 'spaghetti squash'. not one of the 'winter' squash varieties.
        Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          I love zucchini and squash I spray a non-stick fry pan with some olive oil (I got this neat spray thing from pampered chef...my new best friend) and just fry up a small one with a dash of garlic mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

            Here's a link to a wallet sized Acceptable Foods list that you can print out and carry with you when you're shopping.

            As mentioned, spaghetti squash, zucchini and summer squash(I call it yellow zucchini) are on the list, but the other squashes are not.

            Please make sure you know if something is legal before eating it...keep your book handy for easy reference and pop the wallet sized list in your pocket before you head out to the grocery store.
            It'll get easier as you get more familiar with everything though, I promise.

              Hi and welcome.

              There are plenty of "legal" vegetables you can eat during Atkins, but you can only eat a specific amount.

                  so how did you have your squash? did you have a bloos sugar controlling fat with it? if not you may get some cravings for more but that will be about all your issues unless you had winter squash.

                  Just lower your vegies for the rest of the day a bit and you should be fine. in 13 days you can add a whole 5 net carbs iof the stuff back to your already 3 cups of induction veggies and be a happy veggie eater. yum yum

                  oh summer squash is also called crooked neck squash and is yellow looking.
