    Short and dumpy

    While I was switching out purses today, I had the choice between a large red bag and a smaller black bag. I threw them both over my shoulder and looked in the full length mirror. Do you know that the large red bag made me look shorter and fatter. Needless to say, I'll be using the black bag. But I never thought that a purse could do that. Now I'm calling the red one my "skinny purse."

      Hey Kate! Its interesting how different "things" can make us look a certain way, and you wouldn't normally think they make that much of a difference. But they do!

      That's nice thaty ou found one that suits ya!

      I wonder even if you were tiny and slim if the purse size really matters too? Wonder if slim people can also wear whatever purse they want.... hmm

          Anyone here watch "What Not to Wear"?
          They've had some folks on there that I could relate to (short and dumpy...lol) and I've picked up on a lot of tips from them. Boy, does it ever make a difference!
          A bag that is the right size and shape, shirts and jackets that stop at the hip instead 'hiding' the butt and belly (they just make it more prominent!) and pants that don't taper in at the ankle but have a straight leg or even a bit of a flare. It sure makes a difference!

              I cannot handle life without a big bag. Seriously. I'm lucky, I found this great beaded one at a store near where I used to work that gets so many compliments, but without it, I'd be carryign a duffle. I have so much crap to carry around with me (at least 8 - 10 different lip glosses at any different time...I'm an addict, I know), a HUGE wallet, cell phone, etc. During school I've usually got a notebook and a textbook or too as well for emergency boredom. I could never make the small bag transition. It would be worth than carb withdrawal, I think =)

                  YES on tapered pants -- I'm reasonably tall (5'7) but if I wear tapered pants that is the end of me... I look short and dumpy too!
