    Re: Bacon

I think it's okay in moderation...........I wouldn't sit down and eat a pound of it at one sitting.....few slices crumbled into my scrambled eggs in the morning is fine.....that MHO

      Hi!

I have 5-6 slices of bacon every day for breakfast and have lost 23.5 lbs so far. I'd say, give it a whirl and if it stalls you then cut it back.

I was sckeptical at first could imagine how i could lose weight eating fatty foods but its working and I feel great! Good luck and dont let bacon scare you

            Re: Bacon

I ate alot of bacon during induction and OWL and it never hurt me. In fact, I lost better when I ate it. And when you get hungry, a piece of bacon hits the spot!

I saw a bacon test on TV and Farmland, (I think that was the one) was rated the best tasting.

I will have three rashers of bacon most days.

Bacon is cured in different ways in different places. No sugar in the stuff I eat.

I love bacon, too! Most of the time I splurge and buy the ready to eat at Sams Club or Costco. Costco also has a reasonably priced nitrate/preservative free bacon if that's what's bothering you...but 2big has cited studies showing nitrates may not be bad for you after all.

I'm glad she posted this, because I have always been a little unsure about bacon, but mostly because I've been afraid it was so salty it would make me retain water.

                      Re: Bacon

I've lost 25lbs. so far and happen to be one of those that likes to eat 6 or 7 pieces at one time on a regular basis (like 2 or 3 times a week). Actually, I find that if I start having cravings, 2-3 pices of bacon is all it takes to quench it. It is also a great way to get back on the wagon after I've fallen off. I'll eat some around dinner time before I go to bed and by morning - no cravings. It's a great tool to use! Enjoy it!

I'm another bacon lover. I have it for breakfast more than any other meat. I probably eat three to four strips of bacon four or five times per week. It certainly hasn't caused me in problems that I'm aware of.
