  • Converting Friends & Family to Atkins!

My parents have been staying in Melbourne for the past week. (They have flown home - PHEW!)

They have both gained weight. My Dad says he's the biggest he's ever been.

Well, of course me & my partner have been raving about Atkins and trying to convert them. They kept saying that they must get the book. So I took matters into my own hands and went out and purchased it. Hopefully they will both read it.

But what seems to be the best way to influence them (besides my weight loss) is to eat meals with them.

It really changed for my Dad when I took him to TGI Fridays. hE saw the Low Carb Favourites menu and went 'Wow, this is Low Carb ?'. He ended up ordering the steaks and green beans without me urging him to! He said it was one of the best steaks ever! Then on, until the end of his trip (today) he was ordering all the meals low carb!

w00t! It would be great to get them living this life!

That sounds great Dave! I hope they stick to it, I'm proud of you for showing them how good it can be. The best way to show people is by example, and you've set a great one for them. Good job! Now.. just ask them how they're enjoying the book and if they have any questions.

Good for you! I'm gradually working on my new roommate. She's doing that "three day" diet where you eat like, toast and grapefruit, and then meat and ice cream. I don't know how it works, but I'm suggesting all the things that I can eat and she can't.

Also: TGIFriday's has a low carb menu? Good to know! Thanks.

That's great! I hope they give it a try. I wish I could convert my sis. Maybe I'll have to invite her over for dinner every night! lol
