    Snip:

The 71-year-old then cut out wheat and dairy and within three weeks was feeling better.

"It was a miracle. I just woke up one morning and my problems had gone."

In time, Mr Godfrey, from London, also stopped eating grains, eggs, chocolate, coffee, tea and his favourite drink, Guinness
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
    he said, 'Don't count calories.'

            Re: Food intolerance and depression

A very pertinent article. I liked the final quote from the man:

"It is becoming clear food is linked to mental illness. I would say that the things you most like are what most cause you harm. It is worth trying to cut them out."

And not just linked to mental illness - we've all found that the foods you think you like best are the ones doing the most harm.

              Re: Food intolerance and depression

I might be out of bounds here, but
              it said
"The 71-year-old then cut out wheat and dairy and within three weeks was feeling better. ""

To me that says Celiac or glutton intolerance and milk intolerance.

Nearly 2 years ago I tried Atkins and the problems that I had before went away, I was amazed, after going to DR and DR begging for help, I feel totally better with Atkins. I had to know why after 7 years was the pain and brain fog etc ,etc gone or better.
I cheated and the problems come back. I did research and found out I am celiac and go to my DR, who did the tests and it was positive.
I agree that food could cause mood problems, but it also can be a reason for the mood problems
and it should be checked out.
