    I can't cook for squat.

    I just picked up a nice looking ribeye steak, and have no clue how to cook the dang thing in the oven.

    Can somebody throw me a liferaft?

    You need to broil it in the oven. Turn the oven on to broil and it will get hot from the top. Stick the steak in about 2 inches below the flame and let it cook for about 10 minutes, depending how thick it is and how well done you like it. Then turn it and brown the other side. (Put some foil on the broiler tray so clean up is easy)
    You can also just fry it in a frying pan also, get it not and toss it in with a bit of oil, fry til brown, flip it over and do the same to the other side.
    I like just salt, pepper and garlic power on mine.

      I prefer my steaks pan fried myself. Either way, I season it with garlic, salt and pepper then put it on a greased baking sheet in the oven at about 400 deg. I check it every 10 mins and flip when one side gets brown and pull it out when the other side gets brown. For frying, I pour some olive oil in a frying pan and put the seasoned steak on at Med/Hi heat and cover with a lid. I let it cook for 5-6 mins or until grey, then I flip it over (it should be browned on that side, if not let it cook on that side for a few minutes) and let it brown on the other side. If you want it well cooked, keep the lid on. If you like it Med Rare then take the lid off while it cooks on the 2nd side.
