  • *yikes*.... I wonder if Atkins would work for him...

Re: *yikes*.... I wonder if Atkins would work for him...

Scientists in the United States say they have identified a compound in the brain that appears to play a key role in the drive to eat and could prove a useful weapon in the combat against obesity.

Sheeesh, this guy is like this and they are still messing around.

Whatever they do, don't consider Atkins or a ketogenic diet! What don't him burning his own fat stores as energy!

Because he's going to develop heart disease if he trys atkins,...... cause like 20 years of massive obesity didn't do it or anything!

All I know is that really breaks my heart. How very, very sad. And to think, I still sometimes get just a bit down because I'm 22 pounds from goal, when I should always remember just how blessed I am -- as are most of us.

        Chris,

It sure does make us realize how lucky we are, even if we have 20 or 100 or 150 pounds to lose. This guy has around 900 lbs to lose. Its sad I know..

You are so right Chris !

I wonder how they were able to make him sit up ?
The other day I saw that documentary about John Keitz, weighing 750 or so, he could hardly move !!!
Sadly he died before they managed to make him lose weight, it's so awfully sad.

Well, an obvious question is.....if he has an "unrestrained urge to eat" and he can't obviously run to the convenience store himself to get a fix, who is feeding him? Could they be considered an accessory to murder?

My thoughts exactly. Who is the "Dr. Kevorkian" who is helping him die?

My thought exactly. How unhappy he must be inside.

I did see a show on TV once about a very large man who was lifted from his apartment in the US by crane (out the window) and put on a regimented diet in hospital. They did one follow up and at 3 months he'd lost 100 lbs or so, and could walk again, and I often wondered how he did.

Surely something could be done for this poor soul, more than just publicising him so all the gawkers can go "How terrible".

I think the thread needs a warning....that is just terrible.

And, that's a good question...who exactly is enabling this guy? Someone has to bring him food!?!
