I need some info. I am experiencing some awful nausea! I think it is related to Atkins some how. This is day 8 of induction for me. I have lost 7 lbs in the past week, which is going great, but this is the second day I have felt ill, ,mostly in the morning. No, I am not pregnant, but it sure feels like morning sickness. Please respond quickly, is there something I can do to aleviate this? Could I be doing something wrong?????

Re: I so need help from a veteran
You've ruled out food poisoning?
Generally Induction Flu happens in the first week, (it's your body withdrawing from caffiene, sugars and other bad carbs) and symptoms can be different for each individual. They range from fatigue, headaches, nausea, body aches....so this could be Induction Flu making one last stand. If so, you should be feeling better soon! On Day 7 I was still feeling like kaka but it got better after that. Take tylenol or ibuprofen, make sure you are drinking all your water and getting enough sleep.
If this persists for much longer than a few days, get in to see your doctor.
Are you eating correctly? Not waiting too long between meals? Are you having a bite or two of breakfast despite the nausea? You may want to post a typical days menu so we can have a look in the 'Review my Menu' forum (just read the sticky on how to post a menu that is in there)

Re: I so need help from a veteran
Hottie, this is not a normal event for someone at this point on the Atkins program. It may be that you're just sick with a stomache flu, or some other nausea inducing illness.
I agree with the others, however; I'd love to see a typical day's menu before commenting any further.-Chris

Re: I so need help from a veteran
I did just post a typical menu on the "review my menu" board. I do not believe it is an illness really. It seems to settle down some later in the day. I am open to any suggestions or speculations though. I do not want to fall off the atkins wagon. I did read the sticky about the induction flu just a few minutes ago, and feel like perhaps that is the situation. Weakness, headache, and the nausea-sounds to me like just some withdrawl symptoms. I just had not read about the induction flu until now.SW174/CW174/GW145

Mine hit early on, but I was so sick on the third day that I actually stayed home from work. I almost gave in and gave up -- but, I've thanked my lucky stars a thousand times that I stood firm!Originally posted by hottie2bI did just post a typical menu on the "review my menu" board. Re: I so need help from a veteran
Are you taking any suppliments? I get really really nauseaus if I take my One-A-Day on an empty stomach, or on very little food. Took me a while to figure out what was making me so Ill. I now take them right after i eat.Originally posted by hottie2bI did just post a typical menu on the "review my menu" board. I do not believe it is an illness really. Good observation, Jen. I did the same thing! I've learned, now, to never take them the first thing in the morning, until I've had breakfast.Last edited by Chris; January 19, 2006, 01:43 PM.-Chris

Re: I so need help from a veteran
Ya know...I went thru the same thing. It was almost two weeks into induction...and I just couldn't look at food or I would almost vomit. I had to choke down any food...it was really really wierd. It lasted about three days for me. I didn't really find anything that helped....just suffered thru it. Good luckelle
