  • Thoughts On Starting Over Again

I was on Atkins for 8 months, I went from 260 pounds down to 211 pounds, then I fell off the wagon and started cheating, I started Atkins again this Monday. I am really suffering with the Atkins flu right now! I thought it was bad the first time around, this time it is much, much worse. I keep telling myself that I didn't cheat at all for 8 months when I was on Atkins before because I was so afraid of getting the flu again, I just need to remember how horrible I feel right now!

I'm also going through the boo-hoo poor me, why do I have to be on a diet when other people around me can eat whatever they like and still not gain weight. But I'm still 13 pounds lighter than I was the last time I was on Atkins and I have learned from my mistakes. The two things I did wrong.... 1. I stayed on Extended Induction for 8 months! I was afraid to move on and try anything new, then one day, I just broke and started eating everything in sight. 2. I didn't vary my menu enough, I ate the same thing day after day until it just got too boring! What did I do right? I had the exercise down, I was walking 2-3 miles a day and lifting weights upper & lower every other day and I was drinking plenty of water. So those were two things that I did right that I had never gotten right before in my life. I guess it's just onward and upward from here! Chriss

Of course, there are some -- but very few. Keep in mind that 2/3 of all Americans are overweight, and a full 1/3 are obese. So, you're in very good company. Actually, you are somewhat of a minority, because you're among the elite group who cares enough about themselves to do something about the problem.

So, hang in there. That 'flu will soon be gone, and you'll be feeling wonderful. You already know that, so I've no doubt that you're going to make it.

      Wishing you wonderful success!

Hang in there girl. You can do it, and you're in the right place for motivation and support. We're all in there for the same reasons, to be healthy, feel good about ourselves, and look good to as a bonus!!!

          Welcome back, Chriss!

Wishing you much success! The first few days are the PITS and remind me how bad the crap is that I was eating. I can't imagine healthy food making us feel that bad!

This time I'm going to do it by the book, I'm going to do the induction and then move to OWL and move my way up the rungs and eat a variety of heathy foods!
