I heard that with the atkins diet, you can eat all the meat and things you want, is it with eggs? I ate like 10 eggs, for lunch and for breakfast, do eggs count?

Re: Are eating eggs safe?
Anj -- Eggs do have some carbs in them, to be on the safe side you should count them as one carb each. That means you had 10 carbs in eggs today... assuming you're getting half of your carbs from veggies like Dr. A suggests, you can't have any carbs from cheese, sweetner, etc. today.
Just be sure you're getting a balance - gotta eat the veggies, then you can have those extra carbs from eggs, etc.!

Re: Are eating eggs safe?
Hi Anjelique! Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already, and pick up a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 (DANDR). Also, read the stickies in the Induction forum. There is a lot more to this way of eating than meat and eggs! Veggies are just as important. Also, there are limits on certain things, like Kelly mentioned.

You can usually get a small paperback copy of the book for 5.99 or so at Wal-Mart or any big bookstore. No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Vigilance, not perfection.

Or,used, on Amazon for as little as a penny. By the way, there is no such thing as "eating all you want" and losing weight. With Atkins, we're told to eat, according to the rules, from the list of acceptable foods and within the carb limits, until we're satisfied -- NOT stuffed. Trust me, if you eat 5,000 calories in steaks, each day, you will gain weight, not lose.Originally posted by changingYou can usually get a small paperback copy of the book for 5.99 or so at Wal-Mart or any big bookstore.
Do get the book so you'll know the facts, and the proper way to do the program. You'll be glad you did!-Chris

Re: Are eating eggs safe?
You may find the book in secondhand shops or charity shops (thrift shops) for very little if your budget is tight. Even in UK where Atkins is relatively 'new' most of those shops have at least one copy on the shelves!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Are eating eggs safe?
If you do get a secondhand copy make sure you check here for up to date info. I used the 1999 version of DANDR for 7 months but bought the 2002 version a few weeks ago because it was recommended here. It is very different and a whole lot easier to use than the 1999 version.Colleen

Re: Are eating eggs safe?
I'm not going to say they're harmless, too much of anything can have its drawbacks. I was just sharing the nutritional breakdown as per Fitday.com, for 1 large egg. It winds up being a little over 1/2 gm carb.

Half dot com is a great place to get the book too. Usually you can pick from several people who have them, used and new. You can get one for a whole lot less than the published price. In the listing they SHOULD have all the info for you to see if it's an updated version. I think I paid 5 bucks and a dollar to ship for mine.Beady Little Blog: http://strangeandwunnerful.blogspot.com/
