I just went to mcdonalds and order a plain double cheeseburger and took of the bun, and just ate the meat and cheese, was that safe? :
I see in your profile that you are on induction. Technically I think it will be okay, but realistically I would not recommend it till after induction.
Be aware that the cheese is quite high in carbs - you may wanna check the nutritional label to confirm how much. In Australia the burgers have the nutrtional info on the burgers wrappers (Thanks Morgan Spurlock! )
Also the meat has all kinds of flavouring in it that can be dodgey for your health.
That being said, as long as you account for the carbs I do not think it will throw you out of ketosis!
Sugar free jello made with aspartame is unfortunately not allowed, either. And don't just limit yourself to tuna! You should NOT be starving. Post a menu in the "Review My Menu" forum and let some experienced Atkineers help you out! Also, look at this link for what you can and cannot eat on Induction. Remember, you need 65% fats, 30% protein, and 5% carb ratios. So make sure you are getting veggies and plenty of fats with your protein. All the stickies in that forum should really help you out!

The McDonalds was fine, but I would order without the cheese. It has a lot of carbs for how much you get (3 carbs).
Here's a link to find out nutritional info at McDonalds. Click the sandwich or whatever you want, then subtract the things you don't eat (like the bun). Gives you the info on what's left:
As mentioned in another thread, and it bears repeating, you need to get yourself a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short) so you have a good clear idea of what, and how much of it, you need to be eating. A day of tuna and sugar free jello is not Atkins.
We want the best for you, and you have to do your part by reading the book so you have all the facts right at hand. There's lots of good info on the board here, but it's best to go to the source first so you get the basics.
By all means ask questions, but make sure you do your homework as well.
I need a quick way to loose 30 pounds in the three months, with the atkins I heard its possible
And up there you just said
Alright thanks, I am going to walmart later on today, if I see it, I might get it.
When Atkins is done properly, it can make a really big difference in a person's life and body size.
Doing it properly means getting the book, reading it, and learning all you can from the source on how to achieve what you want to achieve.
Atkins can be amazing, but if you don't have the facts, and are doing what you think is Atkins, then you are compromising your chances for success.
I hope that when you see it you will get it...not the 'if'!
We want you to do well but you have to do your part by reading the book so you have it all straight.
I agree with Moochiecat. Reading the book and following it, is integral in order to be successful. Atkins is not just a lose weight quick thing! It is learning a healthy way of eating to be followed throughout your lifetime. It is definately worthwhile the read, and there are also some recipes to get you started! Enjoy, and I'm looking forward to reading about your successes!!!
