  • Finally got my mind back!

I was doing swell on the Atkins diet up until Thanksgiving....
Then I turned into an eating monster! I ate one sweet and
that wasn't satisfying for me and before you know it I was
stashing candy bars in my closet!

I wasn't too worried about my weight because I don't have much
to loose but I was on an eating frenzy that lasted straight through
the New Year. I even made a pie and ate it all myself and told my
family I found a fly in it and had to throw it out--NOW THAT'S BAD!
(they still don't know the truth!)

The worst part about it for me though was I felt like my brain was
    fried! I couldn't concentrate-make a decision--couldn't sleep--couldn't
get up in the morning--I really wasn't even worried much about the
weight gain....The sugar had complete control of me and had even
changed my perssonality! It was scary

Finally last Friday night I prayed that I would have the willpower to
overcome this sugar addiction that had me hiding food. Well, the next
day it was drizzling but I got up and put on my running shoes and got
myself out the door and walked three miles in the rain. I knew after
that that I was on top of the situation. I drank a gallon of water that
day and got back on induction--with a smile on my face - because I
KNEW I had BEAT that sugar demon

It has only been 4 days and already my thinking is crystal clear
again. I have my energy back and am the first one up in the mornings.
It scares me to think how out of wack I was just because of sugar!!!!

Just goes to show there is so many more reasons to eat the Atkins
way besides the great weight loss. I am a much better person because
    of it. ATKINS ROCKS

Oh my gosh I know exactly what you are talking about!

I am totally convinced that sugar for me is just like alcohol for alcoholics, once I get started can't stop, can't think, can't wake up can't do anything, just keep wanting more and more.

And, it sure did take prayer for me to get my feet back on the track too!
