My husband and I started the diet January 2nd. We have stayed on the Induction phase since that time. My husband is doing ok with his weight loss, losing 5.5 pounds to this date. I, on the other hand, lost one pound the first week and weighing in today, am back where I started. His goal of weight to lose is 40 pounds, mine was only 10 (I went on the diet to help him). Any advice?

Are you drinking your water and following induction religiously by sticking to the acceptable foods list and exercising?

Also, when you weigh yourself, do it in the morning after your visit to the bathroom and before you get dressed. It really does help the numbers.

I would suggest moving to OWL now and following the rungs to lose the rest of his weight, getting to premaintenance when he has 5-10 pounds left to lose.

As for your non-loss, with 10 pounds you would like to shift you would have been above the 'norm' of 5-10% of your hoped-for loss if you had lost one pound!!

I imagine you are fairly trim and so don't have all that water weight we heavyweights lost in our first 2 weeks, which is why you have seen no net loss yet.

Is it anywhere near your TOM (time of the month)? Many members see a few pounds gain around that time too!

Have you both taken measurements? Often people experience inches lost without pounds. Are your clothes any looser?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Hi There I wouldnt worry too much about it . I heard that the less you have to lose the slower it takes . Now I am not in that position yet so I cant give personal opinion . Also dont rely too much on the scales also measure yourself . You may be pleasantly surprised .

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have always been one to exercise; walking, jump rope, weights, stretching and I drink plenty of water. I have noticed a slight difference in the way clothes are fitting, so I do guess something is happening.
