it has to do with the type of sweat glands in the hairy areas of the body called Apocrine glands. the entire body has Eccrine glands which secreat mostly water directly to the skin Apocrine glands secrete a fatty sweat directly into the tubule of the gland and when you're under emotional stress the wall of the tubule contract and the sweat is pushed out to your skin where bacteria begin digesting it. it's the bacterial breakdown of apocrine sweat that causes a strong odor.
you can help stop the smell by getting rid of the bacteria in that region.
A number of factors can affect how much you sweat and even the way your sweat smells. Certain foods, drugs or medical conditions can cause excessive sweating, whereas drugs or conditions may interfere with your ability to perspire normally.

Ketones exist in 3 different types and actetone is one of the types peed out and the only type exhaled too. Dr Atkins discribes it like ripeneing apples smell
want to know about the taste too? ketones are also in saliva and you are tasting them
Have to say that since on Atkins body odours have reduced to virtually nil. Could be the menopause though... If it's any consolation, I do have lovely yellow pee thanks to the vits!!
Try drinking more water, to help with the charmpits!
