Re: Baking vs. Frying???
It's really what your tastebuds prefer! If you bake, you can always add your fats some other way such as a decadent sauce with cream & butter, etc.
Frying tends to be faster & baking allows you to roast up more items without baby-sitting it.

Re: Baking vs. Frying???
I like frying meats because it gets browned that way. Baking almost makes it a texture when it is boiled or stewed - unless it's chicken with the skin.27 F 5' 7"

Re: Baking vs. Frying???
Definitely depends what you are eating. I cook my beef, lamb and pork steaks on a griddle on the hotplate. Chicken can either be done that way or baked in an oven proof dish with herbs and butter. Chops are grilled so the fat can run off (I think in the US you call it broiled).
If it was a whole chicken or roast then yes, best baked. Depends what you like.Odille

Re: Baking vs. Frying???
It depends on the recipe.
Many times I'll brown the chicken or the pork tenderloin or chop in the frying pan then transfer it to a baking pan and bake it for a while as I make a sauce in the frying pan.
I hate the clean up from all that spattered grease, truth be told, so I bake mostly. And as someone said you don't have to babysit it.
