it's always strange to me to see pictures of people who are my same height and size and the glaring differences in bodyweight. i started almost 3 weeks ago at 5'6" and 205 pounds. most of my tops were either a generous medium or a large that was slightly too big. i've never worn a pant size larger than a 12. i've never been athletic, so it doesn't seem that i'd have a lot of muscle mass to tip the scales. i find this all very curious.

an upshot is that i'm now down 20 pounds and even my medium tops are fitting loosely.

And I am 5"3' 133lbs and wear a size large top. They are usually long in the arms but the rest fits quit snug!! Weird!!

i have the too long sleeves problem too. you know how your wingspan is supposed to be roughly equal to your height? mine is about 5" short. i have the arms of a t-rex. i think part of the reason i can wear smaller clothes is that i have bulky arms/legs and a proportionally small torso.

        I've been noticing that too!

I think on my body I have all kinds of nifty "hiding places" for poundage... My official weigh-in is tomorrow, but I estimate it will be in the mid 260's (from my scattered unofficials) and I can wear the biggest of my size 18 pants and get into my smallest size 18 jeans (though sitting in them for more than 5 minutes is painful). Meanwhile, some other 5'6" women are wearing size 20 pants at 220-230. It's very strange. When I'm about 200 lbs, I'm a size 14; 220-235 size 16--give or take.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is surprised by all variations in sizes/weights.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

And I'm also 5'3", but I'm 142lbs, and I wear size small tops lol. Despite being a 34DDD haha

It is really strange how people carry their weight differently. I know that all the weight I have left to lose is on my butt and hips, and a little on my thighs. But everywhere else, I'm tiny now.

I'm five feet tall and wear a size L top and a size 10 pant. I would have thought I'd have progressed to a M top by now but my weirdo body says no.
My legs and arms are pretty small now though...my wrists and hands in particular look like they belong to a very very skinny person...how odd is that?!!
I get jealous when I see people with waists!! I thought I'd have a waist but it's being reluctant to show itself.

I'm 5'6" 195. I wear an 18 on the bottom, about 10 on the top (or a baggy large). The problem with 18s is the legs are all baggy but they're tight about my hips where I am NOT losing weight. It drives me up the wall to try to find a pair of pants that looks fits and not weird!

Yes, I've a;ready gone down 1/2 a shoe size, from a 9B to 8 1/2B. I too, am weird sizes. Before I put on all this weight, I had clothes from size 10 (dresses) which were loose fit, to size 18-20 pants which were tight. Go figure. I've come to the conclusion that the manufacturers are all mad (or they are trying to send US mad).

You know it sounds funny but I think your feet gain weight also. My boots didn't fit me anymore after the summer. That is when I started to gain my weight. I find when I lose weight my shoes are loser on my feet. Anyway I think everybody is different. I gain weight in my upper arms and my waist, hips and but which makes it very difficult to buy clothes.

                        Re: differences in weight/size

When I was 205, at 5'2" I was wearing size 8W sneakers, XL in stretch pants, XL in shirts.
At 120, I'm wearing size 7 1/2 shoes, Small pants (or size 4 jeans), and Medium shirts.

The only way I'll ever cram myself into a small shirt, is if I have a boob reduction.

Pants and shirt sleeves are ALWAYS too long for me. Petite sizes are too long for me.
Being this short isn't much fun when you're clothes shopping. I tend to find one brand that fits good, and then buy several of the same things so I don't have to spend hours trying to find something else.

When I started I was 249 wearing a tight 20 and xl tops. I am not 195 size16 and large tops you would think in losing 50lbs I would have lost more than 2 pant sizes... but I'll take what I can get!!!! BTW- I am 5'7.5" I have always been very "evenly" spread out. I think this is part of the reason...

                            this is very interesting!

before i had the kids, at 5'7" and 140 pounds pants were 8-10, sometimes a medium top, dresses 12-14 to fit the girls - 36c then. after baby # 2 200 pounds, size 14-16 jeans and 40ddd so really baggy tops. since losing 17 pounds the pants are 12-14 and large tops - now a 36d ... my legs have been the same size all along, i just look like an apple with sticks attached and the legs and arms of my clothes are incredibly baggy. at 200 pounds all the weight was in my abdomen and girls and i looked 7 months pregnant - i look about 5 months along now, which is better. i;ve always envied women who gain weight in their hips/fanny area and have flat stomachs - i've always had a tummy pooch. now after 2 babies it would take a tummy tuck and breast lift to get it all back in place - so after i reach a maintainable goal i plan to have those done.

i also buy several of anything that fits and always try to stick with what i know works because it's so hard to find anything and so frustrating too. that was true when i was smaller also because i've always been thick waisted and top heavy.

I am 220 and I look like I'm 185. I think it this this way because I have small bones and my weight is easier to hide. I am 5'6. I should look bigger at 220 but I am not. It is weird!
