I was wondering the best place to order Low Carb products on-line for Canadians or pick up in the Toronto Area?
    Thanks!

Re: Low Carb Products in Canada

I have ordered from www.feelgreatfoods.ca and they are very reliable and very dependable. I'm in western Canada, and so there are limited place to get these products. If you're in Toronto, there may be places there to buy, I'll let the Ontario people comment on that though!

      http://www.lowcarbfooddepot.ca/

they are in the toronto area and they're delivery is fast, and I find their prices really good! They have sales alot.

Also did you know there is a low carb grocery store on Yonge STreet? I haven't been there..but it looks not bad. http://www.thelowcarbgrocery.com/storelocator.php

The only things i've ever ordered from low carb food depot is Carbquick (bake mix) and davinci syrups. There's really nothing else that I can't find a in a grocery store. For things like almond meal, soy flours, flax seeds, almost every grocery store i find sells Bob's Red Mill products (usually in the health food or Organic section) Shoppers drug mart carries some of the products too.

What kind of producst are you looking for? I've been on this WOE 2 yrs now, so I've pretty much found where you can/can't buy anything here.

I have on occasion, I have made a trip into Toronto and bought from the Low Carb Grocery store on Yonge. Some things can be very expensive, but it's a good place to buy sauces (Steel's Hoisin, Joseph's maple syrup etc.) They have a good selection of DaVinci syrups and very low carb tortillas (2 g Net). I will mix the maple syrup in with Chinese style stir fry sauces to add sweet and improve the sauce consistency. You can also buy from them online and if you spend more than 100 dollars the shipping is free. I have not bought from them online so I can't recommend this either way.

Thanks guys, was looking at both those sites and looks like the lowcarbfooddepot one has the best prices, will try putting an order through them! Heard a lot of talk on the Da Vinci syrups what are they mainly used for and whats the best flavor?
Also whats the different between Carbolose and Carbquik flours?
Any other products off there you guys would recommend?

                Thanks

Carbalose is the low carb version of Carbquick, it has carbalose flour plus leavengin agents etc in it. Carbalose flour is just the l/c flour. They do have ingrients listed if you click on the product on their site. I have used Carbquick and was impressed with it. not carbalose yet though.

There are a million different flavours of davinci. they're basically 0carb 0cal sweetened syrup (they count towards sweeteners). Some people flavour their coffee with it. I used them for flavouing when i baked. I've only used the Banana and English toffee. I did like both.

If you've ever been to Starbucks or similar cofee places, they're like the flavoring syrups there..but w/o the sugar.

Heh, I think you meant Carbquick is the low carb version of Bisquick, right?

I made Cream Cheese Cinnamon muffins with almond flour and Carbalose last night for my husband, and it turned out ok. He loved them.

I have raspberry, vanilla, english toffee and chocolate flavoured DaVinci syrups. The chocolate one is GROSS, hence the reason why I've had it for months. The others I use either in coffee, when baking, or in yogurt.

The Kahlua DaVinci syrup is pretty good, I use it in coffee and in baking, and to flavour whipped cream.

Sarah, you are looking great. I don't use the syrups everyday (I think of coffee as a treat, and always decaf) but the Kahlua is one of my favourite flavours. As for stalling, everything is so slow, that it's hard to tell.
