I'm afraid you cant count it instead of your water. It has to be on top of it.

Sorry to break the bad news to you.....

      Re: Green tea

If you're on induction, you can only have decaffeinated green tea. If you don't have decaf green tea, here's a tip. Around 90% of the caffeine in green tea is released in the first 30 secs. So, put the tea bag in hot water for 30 secs, throw out the water, then use the tea bag for your tea.

Tea does not count as water as far as this WOE is concerned.

BTW, how do you get your drinking water over there? Purified? Distilled? Bottled?

Over here, diferent types of bottled water taste and feel different. For me, distilled water is the worst. It has this plastic taste and doesn't go down easily. Mineral water is the one I find easiest to drink. Purified water is okay but depends on the brand. The water I drink out of our home water purifier is good too.

The caffeine rules it out I am afraid!

Remember when looking at product labels that it is not only the carbs (or lack of them) that matter - we need to look at the INGREDIENTS to make sure each and every one is allowed for our stage of Atkins.

Edited to add - sorry - didnt read your question properly - ignore the above comment!

I think she is saying that it has 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 0 sodium, 0 caffeine. At least that is how I read it. But check the ingredients to be sure.

If it has splenda, it should be counted as 1 carb per serving.

                    Re: Green tea

green tea is excellent for your health and can be enjoyed as part of your Atkins but as Dr Atkins points out in his water messges in DANDR nothing can be subbed for the water itself one youhave finished it then you can have unlimited herbal teas as he says in chapter 18.
