  • Help!!!!

    I am on day #3 of induction and have not cheated. I had a 4oz salmon filet, 1/4 cup spinach and 1/4 cup of feta cheese for lunch. I have had terrible stomach cramps since eating this. I feel terrible!! I thought this was on the approved food list, but did I do something wrong??? Any advice would be wonderful. Thanks!!!!!
    What would we do without it?

    I think it is the lack of food...why did you have just 1/4 cup vegetables? what else did you eat today?

      FWIW.... spinach ALWAYS makes me run to the bathroom. always has and likely always will. doesnt matter how its prepared or if its raw.

        Thanks for the replys!!! I had 2 eggs (poached) with a slice of American cheese, and three sausage links for breakfast. I have been drinking water like crazy, so I think that is ok. Maybe its just the spinach.
        I only had 1/4 cup because it said on the label and a 1/2 cup was 4 carbs and that seemed like a lot to me. I have been eating the three cups of salad, so maybe I will just go back to that. I had been doing one cup at lunch (with tuna or steak) and two cups at dinner with a burger pattie. I have been listing my meals on the fitplan website (goldenbea) and I am staying at 20 carbs. Thanks for the support!!

          if you want folk to see your fitday you need to make it a public journal and put a link in your siggy or post.

          was that 4 carbs before or after you took out the fiber? remember it is net carbs total minus fiber that we count.

            Hi
            Don't forget that the whole point of induction is to get you over your addictions to sugar and caffeine and all the other stuff that you don't even realise your body is addicted to.
            Most people feel bad to a certain degree on induction, whether it's headaches or a roaring tummy or um, yucky bathroom um, stuff.
            Your body is begging you for sugar etc...and it's adjusting to no longer having any junk.
            It should pass soon and you'll feel GREAT!

              I know that if I eat more than my 3oz of cheese, or a great deal of dairy in any given day, my stomach gets upset. It sounds like you surpassed the allowed amount of cheese allowed in Induction, so that may be it.

              That said, in the first few days of Induction, as my body got used to the change in food, I also had *ahem* digestive issues.

                Thanks everyone!! I feel MUCH better!! I did make my fitday public, but not sure how to post a link?? I ordered the book from Ebay and it hasn't arrived yet, so I am just going off the atkins website and the stuff I have learned here. I didn't know about taking the fiber off the carb counts. I can't wait to get my book!!! Thanks for all the advice and support!!

                  Hope you're feeling better. If it is what we call the 'induction flu', you will feel better in a few days with lots of energy. Hang in there and you'll be so glad you have your own copy of the book!

                    Thanks everyone!! I do feel much better today!!! Day #4, and I feel great!! No cravings, I can't believe they are gone already!!! I think it was just a bout of 'induction flu', but I never even thought of quitting, not even for a second!!!! Take care all and good luck!!!

                            Be careful with following advice off the Atkins website. Since Dr Atkins died, product marketers have taken over the site and they don't follow Dr. Atkins published works. It is a travesty. They don't care about your success on the program, they just want you to buy a bunch of junk that isn't good for you and violates everything he taught.

                              Thanks for the atkins website advice. I can't wait for my book to arrive in the mail, it should be soon!! Thanks for all the support. When I got the 'flu', I thought I had eaten something I wasn't supposed to and went into panic mode!! I want to do this WOL so very badly!! thanks everyone!!
