  • Increased Appetite

    I've been on Atkins for over 6 weeks now and recently I noticed a dramatic change in my appetite. Some meals that used to fill me up and keep me satisfied now leave me wanting more. Ive also noticed that I haven't dropped any weight in almost 2 weeks and I know isn't an official stall.




    Is this normal?

    Are you eating sugar (i.e. starch) in any form? Even Splenda?? Caffeine? Nutrasweet? Diet soda?

    What kind of meals used to fill you up, but don't any longer??

    Are you exercising alot more?

    Still drinking your water??

      also see if any of the brands you use changed ingedients too. Are you eating anyt new to you foods? those can trigger blood sugar instability too.
      Are you drinking as much water? less fluids and you can percieve thrist as hungry since the controls are side by side.

        I eat pretty much the same thing every day.

        Breakfast - 3 Eggs with 3 pieces of Bacon
        Lunch - A cup of salad with some blue cheese dressing and 2 hamburger patties.
        Dinner - Usually 2 more cups of salad or a cup of greenbeans and a steak/chick/fish.

        Tonight I had 2 cups of greenbeans with a 1 pound T-Bone steak and I feel like I could eat more. I drink my 64 oz and more.

        II exorcise 4 times a week for an hour each time. Im usually lazy on the weekends.

        Betty, now that you mention it I have drank 6 or so diet pepsis in the last week and last night I had some cream cheese with splenda because I wasn't satisified.

          Matt remember just cause you fell like you can hold more doesn't mean you are still hungry. Not2late posted a very good hungry scale in the induction forums. Check it out and see if you just want it or were really hungry.

          Also since you added the DP use the chapter 12 blood sugar test and see how you feel after drinking them. You could be getting a blood sugar effect and not ralize it. Cephalic responders can be fooled by the sweet taste to release insulin.

          Glad you have a food diary to check.
